Acid Fast Bacteria have a unique, complex coating that resists decolorizing by acid-alcohol. Microscopy staining methods that exploit this property are used to screen for AFB, like Mycobacterium Tuberculosis (TB) that cause prevalent disease. Objective magnification determines how many Field Of Views (FOVs) are required to score results.
